These stoneware mugs are loosely patterned after French majolica tankards. I discovered several patterns while doing research for a customer. They are not exact copies, but the design has been slightly simplified to keep the cost low yet still retain a period look. Majolica was a colorful glaze method used on earthenware, a low fired claybody. My pieces are high fired stoneware.
At 16 - 18 oz. they are larger than the usual coffee mug, but not too big for hot chocolate, or buttered rum. In addition to hot drinks they are perfect for your favorite beer, iced tea, iced coffee, lemonade, wine coolers, etc., etc.
They have white glaze with blue and gold brush work.
