This new stoneware tankard is a copy of a piece of scratch blue pottery produced in Staffordshire, England 1745-1770.  Approx. 5" tall,  16-18 oz. 

Scratch blue items were widely offered for sale in colonial newspapers.  They are frequently recovered at archaeological sites dating from about 1745-1780.  Scratch blue designs ranged from various stylized floral images to animals.
